I received my undergraduate degree from Knox College. I enjoyed my experience at college most especially because of the small classes and the excellent faculty. I continued my education by obtaining both a masters degree and a PhD. During my graduate schooling, I gained valuable teaching experience. During this time, I was nominated many times for a special teaching award.I have taken with me the experience that I had with my own teachers. This has helped shape me into the teacher I am today. I treat each student as an individual and with the highest level of respect. I also believe that both my students and I share the responsibility for their learning. I have found ways to make my content as exciting as possible, so that my students want to learn. Before having a session with a student, I also make sure that I understand the content as well as possible, so that I'm able to fully communicate all ideas and processes. After working with a student, I'm able to improve upon his or her confidence.
