Experience
I went to Texas A&M University - College Station, where I earned my bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering in 2011. I love science and math, and that is what inspired my pursuit of this degree. I take a lot of advanced math and science courses as well as applied engineering courses, and I had to learn how to combine these topics together. As an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity to work in a lab where we modeled the cardiovascular system. I led a research team of other students, given the opportunity to provide instruction and aid to them. This made me realize how much I enjoyed teaching. After discovering how much I like to teach, I had the opportunity to work through a teaching Fellows program, where I taught biology at the high school level. I discovered that students who are under performing as well as students who were over performing often have anxiety about science and math subjects. I helped students overcome these obstacles to achieve success, and the experience was very rewarding. Also, during this time, I was reminded of my love of music. After this experience, I decided to attend UT - Arlington, where I am today. I'm seeking a bachelor's degree in music education and music composition. I can tutor students in elementary and middle school math, art history, geometry, music theory, pre-algebra, and related subjects. In my spare time, I like to hike and camp, play music, go to coffee shops, and tend my garden. I also enjoy art and art history.
