Experience
I have tutored students for over twenty years in my spare time, helping students and adults to achieve academic excellence. I had both high school and college teaching experience, with a very strong knowledge base in mathematics (up to differential equations) , physics (up to quantum physics), and chemistry (all levels). I specialize in standardized test prep. Previously I taught SAT and MCAT prep courses for Princeton Review as a certified instructor. But students gain the greatest benefits with private one-on-one session with me. My AP Prep students (in AP Calculus, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry) have never scored anything less than a perfect 5. Among my students are super achievers: SAT I math (800) and Verbal (780) at age 11 (probably still a national record); academically the most advanced student in school district history; accepted by all colleges applied for, including Princeton, MIT, Cornell, Stanford, and UC Berkeley. But I am also committed to helping my students truly learn the subject matter. I recently turned a "clueless" calculus student at the beginning of the semester into an "A" student after just one month; I helped a chemistry student become the best one in his class even though he had an "F" for his first exam (fortunately for him this "F" could be dropped). Many of my students plan to go to medical school or other professional schools. It is highly rewarding for me to know that I have positively helped them in their journeys. In my previous career as a research scientist, I worked on ground-breaking technologies for energy and fuel production. I am a co-inventor in over a dozen issued or pending US and international patents. But my true passion is in teaching.
