I am an experienced educator who loves learning and students of all ages. The bulk of my experience has been in hands-on interactive programs that make learning fun. I love to help kids expand their horizons. I welcome the opportunity to help make the homework process or a particular subject an engaging exploration for you or your child rather than a daunting chore. I have also done a moderate degree of online tutoring and editing for high school and college level writing. My degrees are in English and Liberal Studies, so I most often tutor in these subjects (critical thinking, humanities, rhetoric, English, composition, etc.). I have a particular love for Shakespeare and other commonly taught texts that students may find challenging. I have also spent many hours in elementary classrooms teaching science, art and participating in reading programs. I've been an active volunteer with In2Books for four years and have been giving science demonstrations for nearly a decade, including recent contracts in Dallas and formerly as a presenter at the Sally Ride Science Festival for Girls.
